On my 2015 must do list is a personal commitment to use not only my stash fabrics, but all those scraps from quilt tops and backs of the past. Fabric bits that are too big to toss, but too small to cut into any consistent shape.
Some of the fun things I've attempted so far

Improv piecing (you get a very different look depending on what kinds of scraps you are working with. I like both looks!
Chihuly inspired scraps (most of these were in odd shapes of all kinds).

I think its fun to play with scraps. Here's another one you can add to your list of what to do with scraps: put them in an bag and mail them to someone else to play with! or do an exchange.

ReplyDeleteI do find that when I get caught up in an improv quilt using scraps the creative juices flow more so than yardage fresh off the bolt. It's a pretty messy and overwhelming process sometimes too. Love all that you've done here!
