The February De-stash Giveaway is now open…..

I can't believe it's February already. Another month- another De-stash Giveaway up for grabs. This month- winning will be open to US residents only. However- anyone can comment!
Here is a peek at some of the things in the February package that could be yours.

The February challenge question up for your comments: If you could invite anyone, living or not, to lunch, who would it be and why???

Details for the 2012 Monthly Giveaway:

I will post a photo of the give-away each month during the first week of the month- so check back often, so you don't miss out.

You will have until the 21st of each month to leave a comment.

Leave only one comment per person.

I will pick a winner and get your package in the mail by the 25th of each month (postal holidays and weekends excepted). (Make sure you don't fall in to the no-reply blogger category- if I can't get you I'll pick someone else).

I know some of my followers are outside the USA. Because international postal rates abroad are much more expensive I will be doing international mailings only a few times during the year (these are big packages and costly to send). Please know- I haven't forgotten you and appreciate your following me- I really do. So, I will specifically post whether the monthly destash-give-away is open to international entries on any given month.

Thanks for all your support and good luck in 2012! Remember 11 chances remaining to win this year- Go for it!!!

  1. living or dead, huh? i think i'd like to have lunch with Einstein, the young 40s Elvis, and Da Vinci. i think that would make for very interesting conversation...especially between Einstein and Da Vinci. Elvis would be purely eye candy :)

  2. My uncle! He never had kids and loved us all like we were his own. He passed away unexpectedly so I'd love to have lunch with him.

  3. I guess I'd like to have lunch with my maternal grandmother who I never met, since she passed away when my mother was nine, and I'm named after. She was a Polish immigrant to Brazil, and I would love to have known her. What a great giveaway!

  4. I'd ask Katherine Hepburn...she was a fascinating person,a woman who refused to be condescended to in an era where most women were not encouraged to be as outgoing and confident as a man, and I think a conversation with her would be amazing. :-)

  5. I'm answering the question, but I'm not putting my hat into be picked because I won last month (super awesome box of goodies!). But I would pick my Grandpa. He was a really great and creative guy and I was too young to ask questions about his life or family or what it was like when he was a kid. He was a carpenter and when he got older he built furniture and my grandma would paint it. He was so great and I never appreciated him when he was alive. Too bad we don't know these things when we are kids. I also would have him teach me to build furniture (of course). What a great question Steph!

  6. I would like to have lunch with Alex Anderson. There are many quilters I would really like to meet, but I pick Alex for this one because she has such deep and broad knowledge of so many types of quilting - from tradational to modern. I would love to just talk with her about quilts, fabrics, styles, colors, and all aspects of quilting.
    Great giveaway.

  7. Right now, i have been missing my grandmother who passed away 2 years ago. I hadnt seen her in 8 years when she passed, and prior to that i was with her all the time. As a mother, i have so many questions for her. With her gone, i so badly want to know things about her i never got to ask. I know she had quilts, but did she quilt? I knew she sewed as she made me amazing dresses, could she teach me? So much. My heart has been thinking of the what ifs, couldas, and shouldas. I would so badly give anything to have lunch with her.

FYI... if by some odd random chance i win, dont ship to me! Just bring it! :)

  9. Oh gosh! It would be my Daddy who passed 11 years ago. He was my best friend and the life of the party. It would be nice to be a daughter for a while. :)

  10. I'd like to have a chat with an ancestor of my past who grew up in a totally different time period - like turn of the century or ancient times. To sit and eat with somebody who is like me but of another era; that would be fascinating.

  11. Hmmm. it would be wonderful to have lunch with my grandfather! He died when I was 17, and he was so loved. But, also, I have just finished reading The Help. I would love to have lunch with Rosa Parks! Now that would be an experience of a life time!

  12. Oh, for me it would definitely be Marie Curie. Having lunch with one of the pioneering female scientists...oh goodness, I would totally be nerding out. :)
